In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
