The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Was there a period of time when man was not even worthy of a mention? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 We have indeed kept prepared chains, and shackles and a blazing fire for the disbelievers. 4 The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water. 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22
