He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
