The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
