99 verses, revealed in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book, and a plain Quran. 1 The unbelievers would haply like to wish that they had submitted (and become Muslim). 2 Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). 3 Never a city have We destroyed, but it had a known decree, 4 and no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 5 And they say: "O you (Muhammad SAW) to whom the Dhikr (the Quran) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man. 6 "Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful ones?" 7 We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated. 8 It is We who sent down the Koran, and We watch over it. 9 AND, INDEED, [O Prophet,] even before thy time did We send [Our apostles] unto communities of old 10 And never came a Messenger to them but they did mock him. 11 Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners - 12 They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples. 13 Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight, 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
