Are (these two) alike?- one to whom We have made a goodly promise, and who is going to reach its (fulfilment), and one to whom We have given the good things of this life, but who, on the Day of Judgment, is to be among those brought up (for punishment)? 61 That day God will call them and ask: "Where are they you imagined were My compeers?" 62 Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped." 63 It will be said to them: 'Call on your associates' And they will call on them, but they will not respond to them, and they shall see the punishment if only they had been guided. 64 That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What was the answer ye gave to the messengers?" 65 Then all news will be blacked out for them, and they will not even ask one another. 66 But, as for he who repents and believes, and does good deeds, he will be among those who prosper. 67 And your Lord creates and chooses whom He pleases; to choose is not theirs; glory be to Allah, and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him). 68 And thy Lord knoweth that which their breasts conceal and that which they make known. 69 He is God. There is no god but He. His alone is praise first and last, and His the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end. 70 Say: Have ye thought, if Allah made night everlasting for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is a god beside Allah who could bring you light? Will ye not then hear? 71 Say: 'What would you think if Allah should make the day unceasing over you till the Day of Resurrection, what god, other than Allah, shall bring you the night to sleep in. Will you not see' 72 And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful. 73 Upon the day when He shall call. to them, and He shall say, 'Where now are My associates whom you were asserting?' 74 And We shall bring forth from every people a witness and We shall say to them: "Bring your proof." Then they will know that truth belongs to God alone, and that which they used to invent will fall away from them. 75
