The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night when it covers 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
