Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 roaring over the hearts 7 closed around them 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
