Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then indeed I called them openly; 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
