The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 arise and give warning! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
