Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the midmorning, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And found thee in want, and given thee sufficiency? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
