The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
