The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
