Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or are they contriving a stratagem against you? If so, that stratagem will rebound against the unbelievers. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
