Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
