Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
