(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
