The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
