Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
