The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy, 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 (Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds). 16 And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
