The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
