The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
