The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the mount. 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 The roof raised high, 5 And the swollen sea 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 No one can avert it. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Roast therein; endure it or endure it not, thereof it is equal unto you. Ye are only being requited for that which ye have been working. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
