The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
