The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 and purify your robes, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
