Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
