The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
