The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
