The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
