Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
