3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
