HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
