The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
