The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And no trifle. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
