۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
