The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
