S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
