The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 Therefore, God will ward off from them the woes of that Day, and make them find brightness and joy, 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 Reclining in it, upon thrones; they will not see the hot sunshine in it, nor the bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. 20 They [i.e., the virtuous] shall be attired in garments of fine green silk and rich brocade and will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure wine to drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
