The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
