The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
