The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 We opened the gates of the sky and water started to pour down. 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 We let loose against them a violent roaring wind on a day of ill omen, continuous, 19 Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 22
