The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? 6 And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. 7 Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand? 10
