Alshu'araa' 11 of 11
Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
