The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
