The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 and raised couches 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
