The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
