The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who has revealed the criteria (for discerning truth from falsehood) to His servant so that He could warn mankind. 1 He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, who has neither begotten a son nor has He a partner in His kingdom, (who) created everything and determined its exact measure. 2 Yet they have taken to them gods, apart from Him, that create nothing and themselves are created, and have no power to hurt or profit themselves, no power of death or life or raising up. 3 Those who have rejected the Message of the Prophet, say, "This (Al-Furgan) is a forgery which this man himself has devised, and some others have helped him at it. " What a cruel injustice and an impudent lie! 4 And they say: Fables of the men of old which he hath had written down so that they are dictated to him morn and evening. 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “It is sent down by Him Who knows all the secrets of the heavens and the earth; indeed He Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful." 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 Or, wherefore is not there cast down unto him a treasure or he has a garden whereof he may eat! And the wrong-doers say: ye follow only a man bewitched. 8 Look at their various views about you! They have gone astray and are not able to find the right path. 9
