Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
