Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
