The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
